Home brewing is great, especially when you share your quality brew. This site is for all of us to share our recipes, reviews, articles....
Two people are lost in the desert. They are dying from hunger and thirst. Finally, they come to a high wall. On the other side they can hear the sound of a waterfall and birds singing. Above, they can see the branches of a lush tree extending over the top of the wall. Its fruit look delicious. Both of them managed to climb over the wall and sample the delights. Instead of keeping this great place a secret one of them climbs back over the wall with plenty of provisions to help other lost travelers find their way to the oasis.
Promote
your home brew shop on YoBrew for free. Being free means we get to keep our
impartiality. All you need to do is email us your shops details, address and
your shop's land line phone number. If you include a piece about your shop
and maybe a photo, that would be great. We will then aim to use this on the
shops page(s) of this site.
We at YoBrew share a very common focus in today's home brew market and that
focus is quality. We want today's brewers to be as impressed as we are with
the quality of the kits available today. I have just been sharing my home
brewed Barolo, which was from the house of beaverdale kit. The tasting
party (all non brewers) were assembled, all cautiously sniffing their
glass of red, each taster being modest with the amount they require in their
glass. This red was very good quality and that is the minimum we should
aspire to. Thanks to the house of beaverdale within this group the
expectation of home brew went up big time.
There are still the odd kit that has more in the way of slogans than quality and all of us in the trade need to avoid these to ensure that home made wine and beer are as good or better than the standard shop bought ones.
Here at YoBrew we will support manufactures that focus on quality. We will point out to our visitors the true facts. If its great we say so if it says wine ready in 7 days in our experience it is of such poor quality that anyone desperate enough to drink it so soon should seek some sort of therapy. But we will try it first and the reviews are intended to be as impartial as possible.
We will promote quality products with pleasure and
aim to promote the facts of home brew to a wider audience. YoBrew has
appeared in the Times culture supplement. A few years back we had some fun
contributing in a TV programme.
Home brew Shops
More and more shops are now on the net and some are
trading on-line. We will make sure that our visitors hear of your service
and wish all the home brew shops the very best. Please do email us if you
have a special offer or an article you think our visitors will find
interesting. We will of course credit you and supply links to your shop and
web site.
We passed the 1,000,000th visitor (6th Nov 2005).
What is also most pleasing is that the server statistics software estimates
the average time each visitor spends and this is 210 seconds. While this is
just an estimate, too me that is great. It is one thing to get people to a
site but the important thing is that the site meets up
or exceeds their expectations. The visitor numbers is a quantity thing and the
time visitors spend is one of our quality measures.
We regularly deliver over 60,000 pages a month. Onwards and upwards the target for next year is 70,000 per month and three minutes per visitor.
About YoBrew
YoBrew stands for Your
Brew.
Aims:
1)Provide an equivalent of a shared homebrewer's log book, on the web for all home brewers to read, write and search.
By doing this together we produce a log book that's better than any one of
us may produce alone.
Allowing a greater audience to share this ancient skill.
2) Raise the quality of home brewing
We aim to help ourselves by not only providing
tried and tested recipes but also publishing feed back from those that have
tried these. The visitors recommendations will let the best stand out.
3) Have fun
Everyone after all this is about sharing. Team YoBrew are a small group in the UK that do this on a voluntary basis. I initially set this site up as my own electronic brewer's log book. Then people stated to read it. This was just fine and they were most welcome. Then the visitors started to send in emails with articles and reviews. This was great and now although its officially my domain I see this as the Home brewer's electronic log book.
